Cook Islands - YWAM is Growing

Kia Orana from the Cook Islands! We're well into 2006 and we believe this will be another wonderful, blessed, exciting, adventure filled year for everyone! Lots of photos for you :-) hopefully it didn't take too long to download. Let me know if you would rather have one with out the photos, I have a couple of people on our mailing list that can't receive attachments.

We started off the year by having our DTS graduation in a quaint little restaurant by the beach up in Arorangi. The team was in Atiu, Fiji and Samoa. We have had very positive feedbacks from the Outreach Hosts and community they served at and we are very proud of them! Eunhee our DTS staff finished her time with us and is off to N.Z. where she is praying about her next step. Paki is back on Tonga for some well deserved R&R. Thank you to Paki and Eunhee for a great DTS! We then had the teary job of saying goodbye to the students... but in Y.W.A.M. circles its really see ya later! :-)

Good news, we have staying behind from our March DTS Ashley Woods from Canada(Bottom row far left) and Gina Smith from the U.S.A.(Bottom row far right)!!! So we are 7 Base staff altogether now. Its exciting to see the base grow in terms of staff. Maybe we can finally get our little "YWAM Boutique" ready!!! :-)

This summer has really been wet! No cyclones though so we are not complaining! The building is coming along :-) Eddie is doing what he can with what he has... the guys are helping him hammer nails, sawing wood e.t.c. In between the rain they are doing really well! Pray for their safety and finances for the work to continue. Just a quick note, Tax deductible receipts can be issued if you are living in the U.S.A. or in Canada. Please email us for the information. seeyou@ywamcooks.com

Our March DTS 2006 is shaping up well with our speakers all confirmed for their weeks except one. We are praying for more students! please pass the word around. We have great speakers flying in like Pastor Gomez, David Burr e.t.c. It will be an awesome DTS. Also continue to spread the word about our September Survive DTS!!! For more info. email us directly at seeyou@ywamcooks.com

One final note, thank you our dear friends for your generosity in what we do here and for your most valued prayer and intercession. We love and appreciate each and everyone of you! Blessings!

From Eddie & Family, Paula, Vasa, Gina, Ueli, Aaron and Tere!

We invite you to have a read and
prayerfully consider supporting a member of our staff

Staff Fees Support:
As a Base, our heart is to assist our long term staff who do not have any support. Staff fees on the base are currently NZ$70 a week and that covers food and accommodation. We have had different fundraisings to help our staff with their weekly fees from car washes to community work where a donation is given and also from the generosity of the local community.

Just NZ$70 a month from 4 separate people would be able to help one staff member for a month. Would you pray and commit to supporting one staff member for 2006? It could be of any amount. Again if you are residing in the U.S. or Canada, you can receive a tax deductible receipt. Email us for more info.

We would like to recommend to you our 2 staff Paula Moala and Atelia Kavaliku(Vasa) both from Tonga.

Paula has been serving here faithfully with us since 2003. He has been such an example for all who come through the base, staff, students, Outreach Teams and Mission Builders. From ministering through cultural dance, the farm, to serving in the community we have seen Paula mature into a man after God's heart. He will be leading our March DTS 2006 and we as a base would like to assist him in getting support especially for this new year.

Vasa did his DTS with us in September 2004 and has committed to the base for the
next 5 years. The Base and DTS students have been blessed with his heart to serve and for those who have been here... we know the man can cook! :-) He has been cooking for the DTS and the base, baking his yummy cakes and outdoing himself for each birthday! From mowing the lawns, raking the beach, singing and dancing... he is happiest in the kitchen! :-)

If you feel led to assist Paula or Vasa, please send your donations and make a note "for staff fees" cheques can be made out to "Youth With A Mission" and mailed to: YWAM Cook Islands, P.O.Box 436, Rarotonga, Cook Islands
