MEDIA LEGENDS GATHER FOR HISTORIC ''WOMEN IN CHRISTIAN MEDIA'' CONFERENCE

DALLAS, TEXAS (ANS) -- Women from Christian media entities such as television, radio, film, internet, publishing, and church media will come together for a one day event of revival, networking, and leadership training during the 63rd annual National Religious Broadcasters convention in Dallas, Feb. 18 – 22.

Christian media legends Kay Arthur, Joni Eareckson Tada, June Hunt, Lois Evans, Shirley Rose and Janet Parshall will join other women from across the country and around the world at the "Women in Christian Media 2nd Annual National Conference: Journey to Revival" at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center on Friday, February 17, 2006 in Dallas, TX.

The event is also open to women in the community.

"There is no other event like this one," said Suellen Roberts, WCM Founder and President.

"Where you can find such admired culture influencing women in one room. We invite the women in the local community to be a part of this historical event!"

The women presenting, organizing, and performing during the event are all women who represent the Christian community in family, moral, political, and corporate ideas through the organizations they lead.

Women in Christian Media has been in existence for five years and has the support of the Christian media industry.

National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) is offering the event to the 6,000-plus attendees of its National Convention & Exposition, which will also be held at the Gaylord Texan beginning February 18 through the 22. NRB is the primary international association of Christian communicators with over 1,400 member organizations representing millions of viewers, listeners, and readers.

Roberts understands the need for community and fellowship among women in this field and knows the impact of such an event will ripple many positive actions within the nation.

"We anticipate great things as women gather together for this unprecedented conference!" she said, adding: "As women we enjoy communicating and when we all come together and share techniques, lessons, and trials we become even greater communicators of the united message we share."

A media release obtained by ANS states the "WCM National Conference: Journey to Revival" provides common ground where professional women share spiritual and professional development. The event will be held on Friday, February 17, 2006 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas.

WCM National Conference begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 9:30 PM. Educational workshops and roundtables include topics such as "Don’t Sabotage Your Effectiveness" and "The Power of Influence: Foundations for Effective Leadership."

The day will culminate with the "Excellence in Communications" Awards Ceremony to be held at 7:30 PM. This year's awards will be presented to Joni Eareckson Tada and Shirley Rose. The Excellence in Communication Award is given to women that are outstanding in their accomplishments in the field of Christian communications.

The event is open to professional women working in Christian media and anyone interested in learning more about this growing industry group. This event is co-located with the National Religious Broadcasters Convention & Exposition. Register in advance by February 9. Registration is also available at the door.
