Tsunami Disaster Update

“A WHOLE LOTTA SHAKIN’”

 …is how one could describe the times we're living in now! But God ALWAYS has a plan! Do we have our “spiritual eyes” open? “O Lord, open our eyes and let us see!” (2 Kings 6:17)

Indonesia

It is the general consensus of Indonesian Christians that God is shaking up the "M" population of Indonesia. It was widely known that the celebration of Christmas had recently been banned in the province of ACEH, so those that intended to secretly celebrate had already retreated to the hills to avoid persecution. They were spared from the disaster.

Also a couple of pastors had recently been attacked and slain just before Christmas. Many “M’s” saw the disaster as JUDGMENT from God, for the way Christians had been treated in their province.

LORD GOD of the CHRISTIANS, HELP US!

Soon after the tsunami took its toll, a national television station aired an amateur videotape of that giant wave about to overtake a group of Acehnese. They were heard yelling out, "Tuhan dari orang Kristen, tolong kita!" ("LORD GOD of the CHRISTIANS, HELP US!") ...and He DID! Miraculously, NONE of them PERISHED. This was televised nationally only a couple of times before the station execs had the sound deleted for continued airplay. Those that witnessed it were astonished. God LOVES the Indonesians and He has a purpose for them!

Thailand

Longtime friends of ours Thailand (near PHUKET) have desired to care for children who are abused, neglected and parentless. Until the tsunami, the Thai government did not want to give approval. Now that there is an urgency for a children's crisis centre and home in that area, they have received approval and two houses have been rented and prepared to accommodate this need. THANKS to many of YOU, for your PRAYERS and GIFTS, that some of these urgent needs have been and are being met!
