LONDON
(ANS) -- In an apparent response
to Jordanians who took to the streets to call for its leader to “burn
in hell,” al-Qaida in Iraq attempted Thursday to justify the triple
suicide bombings that killed 56 people, mostly Arabs.
The Associated Press (AP) reported (http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=1300775)
that earlier Thursday, the group posted a Web statement (http://alfirdaws.org/forums/showthread.php?t=7868)
claiming responsibility for Wednesday's suicide bombing attacks. Then a
second al-Qaida statement appeared on the Internet “to explain for
Muslims part of the reason holy warriors targeted these dens.” That
statement appeared after Arab-wide expressions of outrage.
“Let all know that we have struck only after becoming confident that
they are centers for launching war on Islam and support the crusaders'
presence in Iraq and the Arab peninsula and the presence of the Jews on
the land of Palestine,” the AP reported the group said.
Noted analyst Reuven Paz (http://gloria.idc.ac.il/islam/paz_bio.html)
provided analysis on the i ncidents on the Internet Haganah website (www.haganah.us/haganah/internet.html).
Speaking in a news release, the American Center for Democracy’s (www.public-integrity.org)
Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, the author of “Funding Evil; How Terrorism is
Financed – and How to Stop It,” said, “The bombing in Amman, Jordan,
claimed by al-Qaeda, demonstrates that as long as the propagation of
radical Islamic propaganda is allowed, more suicide bombers can be
recruited to carry out attacks against the West and anyone the
Islamists are after.”
RADICAL
ISLAMIC PROPAGANDA
Nowhere is this “propaganda” more clearly demonstrated than on the
Internet. For example. The web site of jailed radical Islamic cleric
Abu Hamza (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3752517.stm
and www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-1319188,00.html)
presumably maintained by his followers) asks on one page (www.shareeah.org/eqna/article.php?id=125)
whether suicide bombings are permissible.
Abu Hamza answers, “If (the operation) is done for (the sake of)
suicide, just so that the person can die and run from his difficulties
then it is ... unlawful of course. But if it is done as a tactic of war
because there is no other strong mean to resist the enemies then it is
of course one of the highest and noblest form of ...martyrdom.
Another question to Hamza (www.shareeah.org/eqna/article.php?id=003)
asks whether Jews and Christians are pagans. The individuals says he
has heard some people say that they are “People of the Book.”
Hamza calls that comment, “part of a growing population of ignorant and
unknowing Muslims that have been swept into the interfaith movement.
Those in this interfaith movement do not seek to offend their
unbelieving friends, so they have given them honorable and majestic
titles, rather than the ones of humiliation that Allah has assigned to
them.”
Hamza continues, “Allah has also said, ‘And those that are (heathen)
from among the Jews and Christians, they are in the Hell fire forever,
and they are the worst of creation. Only the most ignorant and animal
minded individuals would insist that prophet killers (Jews) and Jesus
worshipers (Christians) deserve the same right as us. If you want to
know the rights of Jews and Christians, read Surat ut-Tawba, ayah 29.”
Then answering a question about whether it is okay to donate to
children’s hospitals run by non-Muslims, Hamza answers
(www.shareeah.org/eqna/article.php?id=019),” It is a common knowledge
amongst Sunni scholars that donating to the kufar who are in leading
positions is totally wrong; as they use their influence to subdue
people hindering the way to god and good. Allah SWT said, ‘and do not
give your properties to the Sufahaa ( the Silly , Retarded, Kufaar ,
fools etc)... Sura Nisa 4 verse 5.”
Hamza then comments, “We can also see clearly the effect of the Oxfam
and other missionaries in Africa and Asia. Therefore, it is (unlawful)
to contribute to such organizations while we have the duty of
organizing and integrating Moslems for the same tasks; to credit Islam
and the Ummah.”
The Shareeah site appears to be hosted by the Hong Kong based Internet
Service Provider Hostrino (www.hostrino.com/eng/contactus.php).
There was no immediate response to an e-mailed request to the company
asking its position on the hosting of the site.
Commenting on the site, freelance spy Glen Jenvey said in an e-mailed
response, “The site has been up for to long considering what’s printed
on it. It goes far past any line for the freedom of speech club to
claim it's just that. It talks about the rights to suicide bombings
during a time when we have just witnessed the attacks in Jordan. I
don't know what to say other than we should alert the press that Abu
Hamza is still preaching his hate across the Internet.”
An e-mailed request for comment to the administrators of the Supporters
of Shareeah (SOS)was not responded to either. More information is
