HOLLYWOOD, CA (February 12, 2000) - Movieguide Magazine's continuing
monitoring and analysis of movies and box office statistic reveals from
surprisingly positive trends lately, according to Dr. Ted Baehr,
Publisher of the Christian Film & Television Commission's authoritative
publication.

When the top ten movies of 1998 were tracked as to their continuing box
office performances in 1999, several major points were evident:

* Every one of these movies had some moral content or a moral worldview,
up 60% from the previous year.

* Forty percent if these movies had specifically Christian content or
worldview...up 10% from the previous year.

* Twenty percent of these movies received a Movieguide "Papa Bear" Award
of Excellence.

* Forty percent of these movies were rated "positive" by Movieguide,
with one of them ranking with a +4, one ranking +3 and two with +1.

* One of these movies, "The Prince Of Egypt," won the prestigious John
Templeton Foundation Epiphany Prize for Most Inspiring Movie of 1999.

Two years ago, there were no movies winning of the Movieguide's awards,
nor even a positive rating.

Next month, on March 15, Dr. Baehr will host the 8th Annual Movieguide
awards Gala at the Hilton Universal Hotel, Universal City, Calif., and
present his latest research on the state of movies and television in
American culture as part of his "Report To The Entertainment Industry."
Indications are that there will be more surprises and some news making
announcements at the time.
